Service Description

A Swedish Massage focuses on promoting relaxation, improving circulation, and reducing muscle tension. It involves long, smooth strokes, kneading, friction, and circular movements applied to the muscles and soft tissues. The primary aim is to enhance the flow of oxygen in the bloodstream and release toxins from the muscles, while alleviating stress and promoting a sense of overall well being. Swedish Massage is commonly performed with light to moderate pressure, though intensity can be adjusted based on the clients preferences. It is widely recognized for its ability to induce a deep state of relaxation, making it an ideal choice for those seeking stress relief and muscle relaxation. Swedish Massage is generally safe and beneficial for most people, but there are certain contraindications where it should be avoided or modified. Some of the conditions that might prevent someone from receiving a Swedish massage include: Acute Injury or Inflammation – If someone has sprains, strains, or any fresh injuries with swelling or bruising, Swedish massage could exacerbate the inflammation. Fever – Massage can increase circulation and could potentially worsen symptoms of an infection or fever. Skin Conditions – Skin infections, rashes, or conditions like eczema or psoriasis might be worsened by massage. Blood Clots – Individuals with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or a history of blood clots should avoid massage as it could dislodge clots and lead to complications. Varicose Veins – Massage over areas with varicose veins could potentially increase discomfort or worsen the condition. Cancer – Depending on the type and stage, massage may be contraindicated, especially over areas of active cancer. Always consult with a doctor first. Osteoporosis – People with severe osteoporosis may be at risk of bone fractures from deep pressure or the manipulation involved in the massage. Heart Conditions – If someone has a severe heart condition, particularly uncontrolled high blood pressure, Swedish massage might be contraindicated, especially in areas near the heart. Pregnancy – While massage can be beneficial during pregnancy, it should be avoided during the first trimester, and special care should be taken during the second and third trimesters. Always consult a doctor first. Recent Surgery – Individuals who have undergone recent surgery should avoid massage on or near the surgical site until it has fully healed.
