Service Description

A therapeutic massage is a specialized form of bodywork designed to promote physical and emotional well-being through targeted techniques that alleviate tension, reduce pain, and enhance relaxation. This therapeutic approach combines a variety of manual methods, including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release, to address specific areas of discomfort or stress. By manipulating soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, therapeutic massage improves circulation, increases flexibility, and accelerates the healing process of injured or strained muscles. It can also support mental health by decreasing anxiety, promoting relaxation, and fostering an overall sense of well-being. Whether for injury rehabilitation, stress relief, or general wellness, therapeutic massage is customized to meet the unique needs of each individual. While therapeutic massage can offer significant benefits, there are several contraindications where massage should be avoided or modified due to certain medical conditions. These include: Acute Injury or Inflammation: Conditions like sprains, strains, or recent fractures can be aggravated by massage, especially in the acute phase where swelling and bruising are present. Infectious Diseases: Massage should be avoided when a person has contagious conditions such as fever, cold, flu, or skin infections (e.g., herpes, cellulitis) to prevent the spread of infection. Skin Conditions: Severe rashes, open wounds, or skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema may be irritated further by massage. Blood Clots or Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): Massage can potentially dislodge a blood clot, leading to serious complications like a stroke or pulmonary embolism. Cancer: While some types of cancer may benefit from specific, gentle massage techniques, others may be worsened by certain strokes or pressure. Osteoporosis: Fragile bones due to osteoporosis can be at risk for injury with deep pressure massage, especially on certain areas like the spine. Heart Conditions: People with heart disease, high blood pressure, or any other serious cardiovascular issues should seek medical advice before receiving a massage, particularly deep tissue work. Pregnancy: While massage can be beneficial during pregnancy, certain techniques or pressure points may be contraindicated, especially in the first trimester. Recent Surgery/Neurological Conditions
